Anne Mei Poppe (b. Netherlands) is an Amsterdam-based artist whose large-scale paintings move between figuration and abstraction. Working with distorted bodies, intuitive mark-making and saturated color fields, Poppe creates emotionally charged compositions that feel both playful and mythic. Her paintings often depict intertwined figures, animals and symbolic forms, blurring the boundaries between human, nature and memory.
Poppe has finalized the Orientation Course at Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam.
Poppe’s work has been acquired by collectors in places such as Paris, Seoul, Toyko, Copenhagen, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Amsterdam. She has shown her work internationally, most recently a group show in San Francisco with Maybaum Gallery (2026) and a solo show in The Netherlands with Mini Galerie (2026).
